I ♥ Spring TAG

Hey everyone!

Spring is finally here... (I live in the UK, so for a while we were having a very wintery spring)  To celebrate the sun finally making an appearance, I'm going to do the I ♥ spring tag!! Lets get going!

Question number 1: Favourite spring nail polish?

I have no idea why, but I really haven't been wearing that much nail varnish recently! I think it's because it takes so long to dry and I never really have that much time to sit around and wait! BUT I do still have two of my all time favourite nail polishes - these being Essie's nail varnishes in 'Fiji' (yes, classic) and also in 'Mint Candy Apple' - I just think these two polishes are so fresh and springy/summery! Fiji especially is one of those amazing nail polishes that you can wear with absolutely everything whilst making your hands look very feminine and tanned! It's defiantly a recommend if you haven't got it already!

2. What is your must-have lip colour this spring?
I have really been addicted to the Rimmel 'apocalips' line all throughout winter and now spring! I feel the colours are so fun and easy to work with as well as getting that rich colour that lasts for a really long time! Once again, I have two colours from the ‘Apocalips’ line (amazing name) that will be my must have this spring - and they are 'Apocaliptic' & 'Big Bang' . 'Apocalyptic' is a very bright fuchsia colour that is defiantly something I can use to brighten up and outfit when I’m not feeling to go all out colour wise with my clothes. ‘Big Bang’ is that colour that I can tell is going to be my go to when I'm feeling bold - ‘Big Bang’ is a really vibrant red colour which again can sophisticate and l liven up your outfit. The colour pay off from these lip lacquers are amazing, the formula is very creamy which allows the colours to stay on pretty much all day! Which for me is a must! The colour range also is really amazing the lacquers range from nudes to pinks to red. I really suggest you check them out :)

3. Show us your favourite spring dress!
This dress is literally my favourite clothing find right now, I haven't worn it just yet because I'm waiting for the sun to properly come out and the clouds to go so I can get my legs out! I purchased this dress from Primark around a month ago now, it's a really feminine skater dress which is quite tight on the top but flowwy on the bottom, which is a style I really enjoy. I feel so floaty and in skater dresses - and with some cute pumps and a little denim jacket I think this look is going to be amazing for spring! (hurry up sun!!)

This dress was on £10 from Primark and as you can see in the images below has a really beautiful pale pink and blue floral print with navy horizontal lines running through from the top of the dress down to the very bottom! The dress also comes with a little skinny nude belt which is a would look really lovely if paired with some tanned wedges or pumps! Whatever you prefer! :)

4. What's your favourite flower?

I don't really get many flowers, but I do really love lilies :) especially white ones!
5. Favourite spring scarf/accessory?
My favourite spring accessory will probably be my gold and silver short triangle necklace from Dorothy Perkins. I believe a statement necklace is something that can almost 'harden up' a sweet girly outfit (such as the primark dress). As the necklace is gold and silver, I can switch it up and wear either gold or silver jewellery with it which is always a plus as I can switch up my jewellery and wear the necklace with pretty much everything! So I shall defiantly be getting my moneys worth!
6. What spring trend(s) are you most exited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)
To be honest, I  don't know much about the trends this year, apart from pastels being very popular right now! Other than that I really am enjoying the neutral browns make up looks that I seem to be seeing on people! It looks so subtle yet beautiful :) I'm working on getting the Urban Decay Naked palettes!
7. Favourite spring candle?

Because I'm currently at university and living in university accommodation, I'm not allowed to light candles which makes me super upset, however when I go home I love lighting up my vanilla scented candle that I brought from Primark. I've had it for a while though and light it all the time I go home - so in my easter break, I think it's time for me to go out and find my new favourite spring candle!

8. Favourite body spray/perfume for spring?

This really has to be my Viktor and Rolf 'Flowerbomb' perfume! I got a small pull off sample in a copy of Vogue and literally became obsessed as soon as I smelt it! As I'm really bad at describing scents and don't want to make this amazing perfume sound like it's just another common scent on the shelves, I've done some browsing and researched what Viktor and Rolf have described the scent:

"Flowerbomb provides an opportunity to 'escape reality and heal the world... It's about transforming negative into positive.'
It is a play on opposites; a rich bouquet of contrasting sensations so synonymous with Viktor & Rolf's work. For them, fashion and now Flowerbomb is 'an antidote to today's reality, an expression of our dreams'.
Full-bodied and opulent, Flowerbomb explodes into a bouquet of sensations with its addictive floral notes which leave their trail, like a whirlwind that is distinctly couture"

.. a.k.a - it’s beautiful! I really recommend if you walk past it - take a sniff!

9. What is spring like where you live?

It really sucks to answer this question, because everyone I have watched/read has been in America or just genuinely in a really nice part of the world where spring is actually spring. I however, live in the UK and our spring is..well... almost wintery. A few weeks ago it was really cold, so cold we were getting snow, which was horrible seeing as around the same time last year we were in the middle of a heatwave! However in the past couple of days the weather has really picked up and we have been having t-shirt weather! It doesn't sound like much but trust me, if you live in England, its a giant leap forward to a lovely spring/summer!

10. What's your favourite thing about spring?

Honestly, my favourite thing about spring is how happy everyone get and how things change and people do more! We had one random day of amazing sunshine whilst I was at uni, and it really was one of the best days I remember having in a long time. We just sat around outside, played music, drank the classic pimm's and lemonade and had a very filling BBQ. It was really amazing!

11. Are you a spring cleaner?
I like to think I am. I do like to change things around every so often and when I have time to do so I love giving my room a big spring clean! When I get back from uni, I plan to finish off my bedroom wall, organise myself and sell some clothes in order to buy more and go for a shopping trip! Oxford Street or Westfield here I (hopefully) come!

12. Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?

In England we don't actually call it a 'spring break' (I wish we did though sounds so much cooler) but yes, I do have some plans, these being mostly spending time with my friends and family and chilling out after a few stressful weeks at university due to deadlines and what not! I plan to hopefully go to Cornwall for a few days which I really cannot wait for, just to sit on the beach and watch the sun go down is one of my favourite past times, other than that I don't really have many other plans, but I really hope its fun and relaxing that's all I hope for!

And there we go! The spring tag! I really hope you liked it and escaped from the real world for a bit!

Let me know what your answers to some or even all of the questions below! I'd love to know :)

Have a great rest of the week and weekend!

A Day In London

On Tuesday, myself and a large bunch of fellow photography students at my university were lucky enough to go into London for the day. Seeing as I live in London and have done all my life, this was something that I have done plenty of times before, yet I can never say no to a trip into Central London - especially if the weather was as amazing as it was AND it was St George's day!

After a very interesting train journey which included wandering around Waterloo train station to find the group and being told by some lovely old lady that myself and one of my best friends would have 'stunning babies with beautiful eyes' - we finally made it into London.

London Eye

The weather was amazing! A fair few of the group were in vest tops and shorts, which, if you live in the UK, is somewhat a big deal! I mean - being about to stand outside in that type of clothing in the biopolar weather England has been recieving recently and feeling brave enough to go to the entire day is a good sign summer is on its way!

The activities for the day was pretty much walking around London in the sunshine (which you can't really complain about) and along the way, visit some of the iconic landmarks, including the 'London Stone, London Eye, Southbank, 'The Monument' and so on.

'The Monument'

311 steps to get to the top of the Monument!

If you ever want a good workout... going up then down these stairs is a lot of hard work!

One side of my view from the top of the Monument
On our first stop, being a bad group of students, we decided that having a little sunbathe on the grass along the River Thames with ice creams and a Starbucks was a far better choice than walking around a gallery. I can't express how beautiful London really is, especially like I said when the weather is lovely and you have special events happening - like in my case it was St George's day so the pubs were full of patriotic Britons soaking up the sunshine with their Pimms and beers :)

Picnic time!

After our little *ehem* long, sunbathe and picnic - we continued visiting other landmarks around London!

Instead of rambling on. I though I would just take some pictures to show you! If you have never been to London, I really recommend you do! It really is a beautiful place and you can really make a lovely day out of it!

Enjoy :)

I hope you're all having a lovely day and week and enjoyed a little blog post :)

Until next week... Goodbye!

End Of The Holidays

So it's happened again, the end of the holidays. It's around this time I'm usually pretty happy and feeling a little meh at the same time. Being at home for 2 weeks and getting used to all the places and people to then having to go back to university and get back into the working lifestyle - for me, it isn't the easiest transition but yet like everyone else, you just need to get going and do it.

This easter holiday has been pretty decent - although typically the last day of the holidays is looking lovely and sunny so I can't spend the whole day enjoying this springlike day! To be honest, I didn't get up to that much this holiday, instead of just seeing and spending time with my friends and family. The highlights of the holidays defiantly had to be going to the One Direction concert at the 02, finally getting my hair ombré (even though I went ginger the first time and had to go back to get re-dyed for a further couple of hours), seeing West Ham United play at Upton Park and once again, seeing my family and friends and just chilling instead of having to do and think about work and uni for a couple of weeks :)

First attempt of my new hair

Although my time at home has been relaxing and fun - I have to be honest, I have missed my uni friends SO much! It's weird, when you're away from home and your usual surroundings - all you want to be is there. However as soon as I came home, I knew spending two weeks away from my close friends at uni would be really difficult - however, as sad as it sounds, snapchat has made the distance easier! I have the best friends in the world! :)

I hope you had a lovely easter/spring break! Leave a comment telling me what you got up to in your easter break!

One Direction!

On Friday 5th April 2013, I was lucky enough to go to the O2 to see One Direction perform on their 2013 UK and Ireland tour!

Being quite a big 1D fan (maybe minus the serious case of 'direction infection') to get tickets as part of my 19th birthday present was really amazing and such a great surprise! Also the fact time literally flew by was even better, considering when I first got the tickets at the end of February I remembered thinking how far away it was, however when it actually came to the week of the concert I totally forgot and was actually shocked at how quickly it came around! (By the way, I'm not complaining, I was very happy!)

So when Friday came around and I had my 1D partner in crime agreeing to come with me, it was time to head off to the O2! We arrived around 6ish, had some dinner and dessert considering we felt we should treat ourselves as we were going to jump off all the calories and got to our seats! We sat by the side of the stage meaning we had an amazing view of the main stage and we were so close it was just incredible!

The concert itself was such good fun! The boys are so laid back and not so serious, which actually makes it more enjoyable! Just seeing them jumping on each other and giving each other wedgies on stage showed how happy they were and how much they were having a great time - looks like it was just as much as the crowd was! My favourite songs they sang were defiantly 'Kiss you', 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'Little Things' - they also sang 'C'mon, C'mon' which I had never heard before and didn't think much of at the time, until I woke up the next morning knowing every song lyric and being addicted to the song till even now!

Did you go to a One Direction concert during their tour? Or in general? Or if not, would you want to go to a 1D gig? Let me know!
